To my campaign staff, volunteers, and fellow Lowellians: I am honored to have been voted a Lowell City Councilor!
This victory would not have been possible without the inspirational and impressive work done by my campaign team and volunteers. I'd like to take a moment to honor their commitment to their community.
To my partner in life and love, Matthew - you were the heart & soul of this campaign - Thank you.
To my mother and father-in-law, Ann & Andy Descoteaux - for your stalwart expression of love and support in all aspects of this campaign - Thank you.
To my campaign manager, Paul Schor and senior advisor, Fred Faust - you represented both the eager newcomer and the seasoned veteran, and were both indispensible to the success of this campaign - Thank you.
To my three angels with a capital Type-A, Crystal Kasey, Stacie Hargis and Amie Stevens - the three of you sweat the small stuff and provided professionalism at every turn - Thank you.
To my steadfast treasurer, Rob McCollum - your expertise and friendship are dear to me - Thank you.
And of course to all ancillary helpers and volunteers, party throwers, neighborhood walkers, sign holders, phone bankers, envelope stuffers, button wearers, and a special thanks to Move Lowell Forward - a volunteer political action committee dedicated to public service.
I saved the most important accolade to you - the voters. The clarion call for action was issued and you responded with patriotism. It is humbling to think of the multitude of cities and towns across this nation exercising the gracious freedom of selecting representation from amongst their own people. I'd like to take a moment to thank the countless men and women past and present, who have made the ultimate sacrifice to protect the gift of that freedom.
It is with that inspiration of service that I begin my term as Lowell City Councilor. I ask only that you continue the support that has led to this moment of victory, for it is with that partnership that we can truly overcome the challenges ahead, and continue to build bridges to Lowell's success.
